Terms of service

Last updated October 17, 2026 · Version 2026-10-17-draft

These terms are the agreement between you and ReplaySwim ("we", "us") when you use the ReplaySwim website at replayswim.com and the ReplaySwim apps for iPhone and Android. Please read them. Our privacy policy explains what data we keep and why, and is part of these terms.

By creating an account, or by accepting these terms when we ask you to, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use ReplaySwim.

What ReplaySwim does

ReplaySwim analyzes swim videos. You upload a film of a swimmer. Our software tracks the swimmer's body in each frame and measures things like stroke rate, distance per stroke and turn times. An automated coach then writes comments based on those measurements. You can also order a race analysis or a spoken "call" of the swim.

The measurements come from software, not from a person watching your film. They can be wrong, especially when the camera angle hides part of the swimmer. When we cannot measure something reliably, we say so instead of showing a number. ReplaySwim is not medical advice and does not replace a qualified coach.

Your account

  • You must give a real email address and keep your password private.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
  • A team account (for example, a family or a club) has an owner. The owner can add swimmers and invite other people. Members of a team can see the team's films.

Your right to upload a film

You may only upload a film if you have the right to. That means:

  • You filmed it, or the person who filmed it agrees to you uploading it.
  • Everyone who can be seen in the film agrees to it being uploaded and analyzed.
  • For anyone in the film who is under 18, a parent or guardian agrees.
  • You follow the rules of the pool or meet where you filmed. Some pools and meets do not allow filming.

You keep ownership of your films. You give us permission to store, copy, process and show your films only to provide ReplaySwim to you and to the people you share them with.

Do not upload anything illegal, anything that shows nudity, or anything that is not a swim.

How we use your films

Your films are used only to make your analysis and to show it to you and the people you share it with.

  • We never use your films to train or improve our software. We improve our analysis only with films that ReplaySwim made itself, of our own people.
  • We do not sell your films or show them to advertisers.
  • We do not copy your films anywhere else.

Who at ReplaySwim can see your film

Only staff who need to, for one of these reasons:

  • You asked for help, and we need to look at the film to help you.
  • You reported a problem with an analysis, and we need to look at the film to fix it.
  • We have to, by law.

Staff do not browse films. Access to films is limited to the few people who do support and fix problems.

Sharing

A film is private to you (and your team, if it is in a team account) until you share it. You can share a film in two ways:

WayWho can see the film
Email inviteThe person you invited, after they sign in.
Share linkAnyone who has the link. They do not need an account.

People you share with can watch the film and the analysis, and can leave comments. You can turn off a share link or remove an invite at any time. After that, the link or invite stops working. We cannot take back a copy that someone saved while they had access.

Payments and refunds

Each analysis has a price, shown before you pay. How you pay depends on where you buy:

Where you buyHow payment works
On the website, and in the iPhone app in the USWe put a hold on your card when you start. Your card is charged only when the analysis is ready. If the analysis fails, we release the hold and you are not charged. Payments are handled by Stripe.
In the iPhone app outside the US, and in the Android app (Google Play) in every countryApple or Google charges you right away, under their own terms. If the analysis fails, we give you a free analysis to use instead. Only Apple or Google can give a refund for these purchases.

Prices include or exclude sales tax as shown at checkout. We may give free analyses at our choice. A free analysis has no cash value.

If you think you were charged by mistake, email us at replayswim@zincan.com.

Payment records

We keep a record of each payment: the date, the amount, what was bought, the film's name and size, and the swimmer's name. We keep these records even after the film or your account is deleted, because we need them for tax, accounting, refunds and disputes. The record does not include the film.

Deleting a film

When you delete a film, we delete the video and everything made from it: the analysis, the coach's comments, the comments people left, the drawings and the share links. We keep no copy of the footage. The payment record for the film stays, as described above.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself: in the app, go to Settings, then Delete account. On the website, open the account menu, then Settings. You need your password. You are signed out everywhere right away, and we delete the rest within a few minutes. You can also ask us at replayswim@zincan.com.

When we delete it:

WhatWhat happens
Films you own, with their analyses, comments, share links and drawingsDeleted
Comments you wrote on other people's filmsDeleted
Share links and invites you sentDeleted
Your name, email address, password, devices and app sign-insDeleted or turned off
Payment recordsKept, as described above

We keep a record that an account existed, with no name or email address, so that the payment records still belong to someone. Card holds that have not been charged yet are released, so you are not charged after you delete your account.

If you own a team account with other members:

  • The team is closed. The other members leave it, but keep their own login and their own films.
  • Before deleting, you can choose to give films of a swimmer who has their own ReplaySwim login to that swimmer. Those films then belong to the swimmer. All other films in the team are deleted.

We show you what will be deleted, and what will move, before you confirm.

Things you must not do

  • Use ReplaySwim to harass, track or harm anyone.
  • Try to get into accounts or films that are not yours.
  • Copy, resell or take apart our software, or overload our systems.
  • Use automated tools to sign up or upload.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we do, we will tell you why, unless the law stops us.

Changes to ReplaySwim and to these terms

We may change ReplaySwim, add features or remove them. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will ask you to accept the new terms the next time you use the app. The date and version at the top of this page show which terms are in force.

Our responsibility

We work hard to keep ReplaySwim running and accurate, but we provide it "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions made from an analysis, or for losses that come from the service being unavailable. Our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
